Commissioning of a 10-seater toilet facility Adjiringanor Adma Basic School in the Adenta Municipality, Accra.

The lavatory project which was started last year is made up of a 10- seater toilet facility 2 of which will be used by the teaching staff with 10 sinks for hand-washing. The club also installed 2 ultra modern Septic tanks – Duraplast Septic Tank (DST) which is capable of treating the waste and thereby reducing drastically the frequency of dislodging.

The entire project is estimated at about GHS100,000 raised from various fundraising activities organised by the club over the past years.

In their address, the headmaster of the school Mr Prosper Dorgbadzi  and the Municipal Director of Education for the Adentan Municipality, Dr Angela Tena Mensah expressed their gratitude to the Rotary club and made an assurance that the facility will be put to good use and well maintained as well.

The special guest of honor, DGN Jeff Afful of district 9102 congratulated the club for yet another project and recounted other projects done by the club for the school which they have adopted for the last 5 years. The projects include complete refurbishment and restocking of the school library, donation of furniture for staff of the school and well at donation of a water tank by the interact club of Ghana International school which was chartered by the club. He also emphasised the need to sustain all project by the club in order for future generations to benefit from them. DGN Jeff also told the guest present about rotary international and its activities including the areas of focus.

The President of the Rotary club of Accra Legon East, RP Harris Hammond in his speech said he was happy that a very important need in the areas of health, water and sanitation has been met by the completion an handing over of this project. He admonished staff and students to ensure a good culture of maintenance for the project which was ultramodern to last for a very long time. He acknowledged individuals as well as all members of the club for their hard work to make this project see the light of day. He also recognised companies and individuals who supported the project in various forms; Dr Pedro Pyne, Zoobashop; Merson Capital; Handosky Ltd;Oval Microfinance; Emerald Blue; BTL  Ltd; ECPL; Dede Ayew;Civicom; S and J; Sangy foundation among others.

In attendance were the District Governor Nominee district 9102, Jeff Afful, the municipal director of education, AdMA; the chief of Adjiringanor; members of rotary club of accra Legon East, Accra Cantonments, Accra Dansoman etc; representatives from the School management committee; staff and  students of the school and other guests.
